Gulf Coast Chapter of the Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association is a dynamic organization dedicated to the protection, improvement, and promotion of Restaurants, Lounges, Package Stores, and Suppliers of the Industry in South Mississippi. Founded in 1983 to provide fellowship and support for local area restaurateurs and industry members, the Association has grown to become a respected voice on the coast with a membership of 250 +. Each year the Association hosts "Chefs of the Coast". Chefs of the Coast is a grand gala of food from 50 plus of the finest restaurants on the coast, a wine tasting, a silent auction, dancing and a live orchestra, celebrity chef apperances such as our 2001 celebrity Chef Paul Purdhome and much more.

 


The Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association
      Formed in 1947 by a group of Jackson restaurant operators, the Mississippi Hospitality & Restaurant Association has been the longtime voice of the foodservice industry. Consisting of restaurants, hotels, caterers, institutional feeders and suppliers, the MRA is one of the largest trade associations in the state with membership in excess of 1300. The MHRA has 11 chapters throughout the state, each with their own Board of Directors, as well as a 40 member State Board that oversees the activities and functions of the entire association. The MRA has a professional staff with the Executive Director serving as the Chief Executive Officer. The primary purpose of the MHRA is to promote, protect and serve the foodservice and hospitality industry in the state. This is accomplished through the services and programs available to our members.
